The Cure
After postponing their North American tour to work on their 13th album last fall, acclaimed British rock band, The Cure, have set a June date in Dallas.
The band promises to play a mix of new material and classic songs in their upcoming show, said Robert Smith to Billboard magazine.
"A lot of people who come to Cure shows want to hear something they haven't heard before, but they also want to hear old songs," Smith said.
The lineup will feature lead vocalist and guitarist Smith, guitarist Porl Thompson, bass player and keyboardist Simon Gallup and drummer Jason Cooper.
One of the most influential bands of the past few decades, The Cure helped usher in alternative rock in the late 70's after an era of punk rock subsided. They have been listed on Billboard's Top 40 charts and sold more than 27 million albums. The band has released more than 30 singles and 12 studio albums with a double-album currently in the works.
