Mike Ebow is the Senior Manager of Guest Services & Security at American Airlines Center. He has been working at the AAC for the past 13 years.

Where are you from originally?

I am from St. Martinsville, Louisiana.

What is your favorite event you have ever attended/worked?

Working the Watch Party back in June 2011 when the Mavericks won the NBA Championship.

What is a typical day in the life for you at the office?

There are no typical days for me but on concert/game days, I usually arrive about 10-11am, meet with tour security and prepare for early show/game activities such as Meet & Greets, sound checks, and any pre or post-game activities. I'll then run my staff briefings around 5-6pm, once my staff have finally arrived. Then once doors open, I'll walk the concourses as well as outside the venue (looking out for ticket scalpers!), greating guests, handling guest/employee issues and taking care of any VIP’s. I rarely get to see much of any of the games/shows but I take the safety of our guests very seriously and that's what I'm here for. Once the show/game ends, usually around 10pm-11pm, I make sure the teams get off the court/ice and/or the artist(s) get off the stage safely and escorted out of the building. Once that is done, I will release my staff, finish some last minute paperwork and finally head home!

On the days where we don't have any events, I am constantly working to prepare for the next show/game coming up.

What is your favorite aspect of your job?

I’m a people-person, I love that I get to hang with 15,000 people on a nightly basis.

Do you have an interesting story from working at AAC?

I’ve seen a number of artists/celebrities leave the building after their concerts and you'd be surprised how many look nothing like the person you saw on stage. I don't want to say any names. [laughs]

What are your hobbies outside of work?

Drawing, riding my Kawasaki, and getting on game shows. (I’ve done 3 so far: Greed, Wheel of Fortune and Weakest Link)

Best advice you ever received OR what advice would you give to your younger self?

To my younger self, I'd say, “ Save your money, watch your credit and you are handsome and not the creepy nerd you think you are”.

If you had to sing one song on American Idol what would it be?

James Brown - "It's A Man's World".

If there was a movie made about your life, who would play you?

Chris Rock for my younger self and Samuel Jackson as I get older.

If you could have lunch with anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Barack Obama.

Name one artist or group you want to see or wish you could’ve seen in concert?

[Young] Elvis Presley.
