Fan Safety Guidelines
UPDATE as of March 2, 2021: We are aware of Governor Abbott’s latest executive orders to reopen Texas. While we appreciate the eagerness to reopen the state as COVID-19 related numbers are declining, our arena policies will remain the same. American Airlines Center’s current reduced capacities, social distancing and mask mandates will continue to be enforced at all Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars games as well as all other events until further notice. Our full list of Fan Safety Guidelines can be found below.
The well-being of our guests and staff is always our top priority, and as we return to events, heightened sanitation, health, and safety protocols will be in place at American Airlines Center. The new procedures and processes follow guidelines set forth by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local agencies; the City of Dallas Office of Emergency Management (OEM), the Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS), and the Texas Department of State and Health Services (TDSHS).
American Airlines Center has achieved Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation, the gold standard for prepared facilities. Under the guidance of GBAC, a Division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, American Airlines Center has implemented the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention in its facility.
- Bags and purses will not be permitted. Wallet-size clutches no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”, medical bags and parenting bags will be permitted. All bags permitted are subject to security screening.
- Face masks are required to be worn once you exit your vehicle or public transportation and while inside American Airlines Center at all times. All persons age 2 years and older must wear a face covering. Neck gaiters, face masks with vents, and bandanas are not acceptable face coverings. Face shields may not be worn in place of a face mask, though may be worn in addition to a face mask.
We ask that guests maintain at least 6 feet of distance between other patrons outside of their immediate party as they arrive at arena entrances. Additional distancing instructions will be provided for guests upon entry into the building. Guests will go through a minimal-contact security screening.
